The doctor-patient relationship has been defined as the interpersonal interaction between the doctor and the patient, established with the aim of remitting a disease. Within this relationship, different factors converge that deteriorate the professional intervention with the patient and that in the long run will generate an early abandonment of the treatment. In this context, this research aims to contextualize the current doctor-patient relationship, exploring its characteristics and factors that influence this phenomenon. Methodology: A non-systematic bibliographic review was carried out. For the review, scientific articles registered in recognized databases were used, inclusion and exclusion criteria regulated by the authors were taken into account. 32 articles were obtained that provide the information required to carry out the investigation. The results allow us to conclude that it is possible to qualify and quantify the doctor-patient relationship depending on its main characteristics, likewise its socialization with the professional and non-professional population is important so that they acquire basic knowledge of the doctor-patient relationship; as well as to show the benefits that may derive from a correct execution in this interaction and therefore minimize the dropout rate and generate greater adherence to treatment during the medical intervention.
La relación médico paciente ha sido definida como la interacción interpersonal entre el médico y el paciente, establecida con el objetivo de remitir una enfermedad. Dentro de esta relaciónconfluyen distintos factores que deterioran la intervención profesional con el paciente y que a la larga generará un abandono precoz del tratamiento. En este contexto, la presente investigación pretende contextualizar la relación médico paciente en la actualidad, explorando sus características y factores que influyen en este fenómeno. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica no sistemática. Para la revisión se utilizaron artículos científicos registrados en bases de datos reconocidas, se tomaron en cuenta criterios de inclusión y exclusión regulados por los autores. Se obtuvieron 32 artículos que proporcionan la información requerida para realizar la investigación. Los resultados permiten concluir que es posible calificar y cuantificar la relación médico paciente dependiendo de sus características principales, así mismo es importante su socialización con la población profesional y no profesional para que adquieran conocimientos básicos de la relación médico-paciente; así como también evidenciar los beneficios que puedan derivarse de una correcta ejecución en esta interacción y por ende minimizar la tasa de deserción y generar una mayor adherencia al tratamiento durante la intervención médica.
