Microcredits contribute to the strengthening of productive units and territorial development, and operate as mechanisms in the generation of new business units. The present investigation tries to determine the capacity of the microcredits around the financing of the agricultural activity in the province of Chimborazo. For this, a descriptive study is considered and it assumes a qualitative and quantitative approach. The BanEcuador database is considered, which offers a set of data from financial activity in relation to the study unit; it also accompanies a theoretical review on territorial development, which allows associating the study variables. The results show that microcredits aimed at the livestock and agricultural sector are new, since in most studies they are aimed at other productive activities; furthermore, BanEcuador's financing policy is aimed at strengthening livestock and agricultural activities, highlighting a visible focus on the territorial development of the province.
Los microcréditos contribuyen al fortalecimiento de las unidades productivas y el desarrolloterritorial, y operan como mecanismos en la generación de nuevas unidades de negocios. La presenteinvestigación determina la capacidad de los microcréditos en torno a la financiación a la actividad agrícola en laprovincia de Chimborazo. Para ello, se considera un estudio de tipo descriptivo, y se asume un enfoquecualitativo y cuantitativo. Se contempla la base de datos de BanEcuador, que ofrece un conjunto de datosprovenientes de la actividad financiera en relación con la unidad de estudio; además, acompaña una revisiónteórica sobre el desarrollo territorial, que permite asociar las variables de estudio. Los resultados muestran quelos microcréditos orientados al sector pecuario y agrícola son nuevos, dado que en la mayoría de los estudiosorientan a otras actividades productivas; además de que la política de financiación de BanEcuador orienta alfortalecimiento de la actividad pecuaria y agrícola, donde se destaca un enfoque visible hacia el desarrolloterritorial de la provincia.
