    FUERZAS DE ARENADO DENTAL. ESTUDIO COMPARATIVO DEL NIVEL DE AGRIETAMIENTO EN ALEACION DE CROMO COBALTO Y CROMO NIQUEL

    Abstract

    Prosthodontics is a dental specialty in charge of restorative treatments in dental pieces by means of prosthesis. Different biomaterials are used for its elaboration, which should follow an adequate manufacturing protocol in order not to present flaws in its structure such as cracking, which can lead to a poorly performed treatment, complications in the prosthesis of dental pieces and the oral cavity. The objective of this study was to compare materials and techniques used in the fabrication of dental prostheses. For this purpose, two alloys in cobalt chrome and nickel chrome were analyzed at different sandblasting forces to determine the level of cracking. The study population consisted of 40 chromium samples, which were divided into two groups, 20 cobalt chromium samples and 20 nickel chromium samples, which were sandblasted with aluminum oxide at 60 um and 120 um. From the analyses it was possible to show that there were statistically significant differences between the distribution of the number of cracks and sandblasted and unsandblasted alloys.     Resumen

    La prostodoncia es una especialidad dental encargada de los tratamientos restaurativos en piezasdentales por medio de la realización de prótesis. Para su elaboración se emplean diversosbiomateriales, los cuales deben seguir un adecuado protocolo de fabricación para no presentar fallasen su estructura como el agrietamiento, el mismo que puede desencadenar en un tratamiento malrealizado, complicaciones en las prótesis de piezas dentales y la cavidad bucal. Este estudio tuvocomo objetivo comparar, materiales y técnicas utilizadas en la fabricación de las prótesis dentales,para ello se analizó dos aleaciones en cromo cobalto y cromo níquel a diferentes fuerzas de arenadopara determinar el nivel de agrietamiento. La población de estudio estuvo conformada por 40muestras de cromo, de las cuales se dividieron en dos grupos, 20 muestras de cromo cobalto y 20muestras de cromo níquel, las cuales tuvieron un proceso de arenado con óxido de aluminio a 60 umy 120 um. A partir de estos análisis se pudo evidenciar que existieron diferencias estadísticamentesignificativas entre la distribución del número de grietas y aleaciones arenadas y sin arenar. Con losresultados obtenidos se pudo determinar cuál es la mejor aleación para realizar los distintostratamientos de prostodoncia. Además de resaltar que ejecutar el proceso de arenado es fundamentalporque este brinda mejoría en la estructura de la aleación, desgastando el proceso de agrietamiento alque comúnmente se ve expuesto.
