The present research, based on the Facebook Social Network, aimedto analyzethe influence and use of theFacebook Social Network in relation to the reading skills of the English language in the students of 2nd "A and B" 3rd "A and B" of high school of the Unidad Particular "Cavanis Borja" during the academic period2020-2021. Themethodology consisted of a non-experimental, documentary design; it is a descriptive study, and has a qualitative-quantitative approach. In addition, a survey and a testwere used as data collection techniques. These were adapted by the researchers to carry out the study.It was possible to determine that there was a statistical association between the use of Facebook for educational purposes and the final score of thestudents. Besides, it was determined that the reading skills and vocabulary sub-skills of the students did not correspond to the academic grade they are currently studying. It was concluded that the Facebook social network is a pedagogical tool with greatpotential that teachers could consider in the teaching-learning process.
La presente investigación, basada en la Red Social Facebook, tuvo como objetivo analizar la influencia y el uso de la Red Social Facebookcon relación a la destreza de lectura del idioma inglés enlos estudiantes de 2do ?A y B? 3ro ?A y B? de bachillerato de la Unidad Particular ?Cavanis Borja? durante el año lectivo 2020-2021. La metodología consistió en un diseño no experimental, documental; es un estudio de tipo descriptivo, y posee un enfoque cuali-cuantitativo. Además, se utilizó como técnicas de recolecciónde datos a la encuesta y un test. Los mismos que fueron adaptados por los investigadores para llevar a cabo el estudio.En los resultados presentados en la encuesta aplicada a los estudiantes se pudo determinar que existió una asociación estadística entreel uso de Facebookcon propósitos educativo y el puntaje final agrupado de los estudiantes, a su vez se determinó que la destreza de lectura y subdestreza de vocabulario de los estudiantes no correspondió al grado académico que cursan actualmente. Se concluyó que la red Social Facebook es una herramienta pedagógica con mucho potencial que podríanconsiderar los docentes en el proceso enseñanza aprendizaje.
