Tourism has been the object and subject of different scholars in recent decades. The studies and research focus on a diversity of themes, from more traditional topics to more recent ones that were incorporated with globalization, the emergence and development of technologies associated with entrepreneurship and also innovation. This study is part of a set of other studies carried out within the scope of the research project financed by the CNPq that relates governance and development of destinations developed in collaboration with several Brazilian and foreign higher education institutions, a fact that motivated the analysis of scientific publications on tourist destinations in Brazil and their relationship with development, before the start of the Sars-Cov-2 (COVID-19) pandemic. The result revealed that the scientific production in the field of tourism development in the country has evolved in quality, but still remains restricted, a fact that is inferred from the low number of articles found on the subject investigated, mainly on methodologies and indicators of development of tourism. touristic destinations. .
El turismo ha sido objeto y sujeto de diferentes estudiosos en las últimas décadas. Los estudios e investigaciones se enfocan en una diversidad temática, desde temas más tradicionales hasta otros más recientes que se incorporaron con la globalización, el surgimiento y desarrollo de tecnologías asociadas al emprendimiento y también la innovación. Este estudio forma parte de un conjunto de otros estudios realizados en el ámbito del proyecto de investigación financiado por el CNPq que relaciona gobernanza y desarrollo de destinos desarrollado en colaboración con varias instituciones de educación superior brasileñas y extranjeras, hecho que motivó el análisis de publicaciones científicas sobre los destinos turísticos en Brasil y su relación con el desarrollo, antes del inicio de la pandemia Sars-Cov-2 (COVID-19).Biblioteca electrónica de publicaciones periódicas científicas (Spell) .
