COVID-19 has radically transformed many aspects of human life and global society in the present times and years to come. A key aspect of the transformation is the increase in digitization and the accelerated implementation of previously predicted trends that have been discussed for many years in the information management literature. Human effort encourages adaptation to the ?new normal? through immediate need in areas such as work, education, healthcare, entertainment, and online commerce. This new environment has provided unprecedented opportunities for the information management research community to develop research that will have a significant impact on practice in these and other areas. Basically, the cusp of new developments in the digital space has arrived and it is important to seek the development of models that can help point the future direction of the global digital society for the benefit of all. However, the problems of digitization have also been exacerbated and need to be further understood and improved in the post-COVID world. This document examines the opportunities and challenges in information management caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It details the implications for research and practice
El virus COVID-19 ha transformado radicalmente muchos aspectos de la vida humana y la sociedad global en la actualidad y los años venideros. Un aspecto clave es el aumento de la digitalización y la implementación acelerada de tendencias predichas que se han discutido durante años en la literatura sobre gestión de la información. El esfuerzo humano anima la adaptación a la ?nueva normalidad? a través de una necesidad inmediata en áreas como trabajo, educación, atención médica, entretenimiento, y comercio electrónico. Este nuevo entorno ha brindado oportunidades sin precedentes para que la comunidad de investigación en gestión de la información, desarrolle investigaciones que tendrán un impacto significativo en la práctica de estas y otras áreas. Básicamente, se ha alcanzado la cúspide de los nuevos desarrollos en el espacio digital y se debe desarrollar modelos que puedan ayudar a señalar el futuro de la sociedad digital global en beneficio de todos. No obstante, los problemas de la digitalización también se han exacerbado y deben entenderse y mejorarse en el mundo posterior al COVID. Este documento examina las oportunidades y los problemas en la gestión de la información provocados por la pandemia de COVID-19. Detalla las implicaciones para la investigación y la práctica.
