Self-description in adolescents is a reflection of the social environment in which they develop, in this period the self-concept presents significant changes originated essentially by the increasing development of cognitive skills. The objective of this research is to characterize the adolescent's perception in relation to himself and his environment in students of both sexes of Riobamba, during 2019-2020 period. A descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative investigation was carried out, where the mean score was higher in women in the family, health, personal and social dimensions; while the school dimension behaved more in men.
La autodescripción en adolescentes es reflejo del ambiente social en que se desarrollan, en este periodo el autoconcepto presenta significativos cambios originados en esencia por el creciente desarrollo de las destrezas cognitivas. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo caracterizar la percepción del adolescente en relación a sí mismo y a su entorno en estudiantes de ambos sexos de Riobamba, durante el período 2019-2020. Se realizó una investigación descriptiva, transversal y cuantitativa, donde la media de puntuación fue mayor en mujeres en las dimensiones familiares, salud, personal y social; mientras que la dimensión escolar se comportó mayor en los hombres.
