An analysis of the validity and reliability of the Big Five personality test on university students of Ecuador is proposed. This research is quantitative, non-experimental, observational and descriptive, and consisting of a sample of 357 university students, of which 68.9 percent represents the female gender. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the National University of Chimborazo, in the city of Riobamba, Ecuador. The age range was between 18 and 32 years old with a x average= 21.20 and ? ± 2.422 and with an ?= 0.81. The validation of the test was carried out using the Delphi method. For the reliability test, the reference pattern of the reliability and validity analysis was applied, the ? = 0.831. A confirmatory factor analysis of the KMO test and Bartlett test = 0.898 and a significance of 0.00, allowed the reliability and validity analysis of the instrument.
Se propone un análisis de la va lidez y la confiabilidad del test de personalidad Big Five en estudiantes universitarios del Ecuador. Este parte de un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo no experimental de tipo observacional descriptivo, conformado por una muestra de 357 estudiantes universitarios, de los cuales el 68,9 por ciento representa al género femenino. El estudio se realizó en la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo, de la ciudad de Riobamba, Ecuador. Las edades comprendidas oscilan entre 18 y 32 años con una x promedio= 21,20 y ? ± 2,422 y con una ?= 0,81. La validación del test se realizó por medio del método Delphi. Para la confiabilidad se aplicó el patrón de referencia del análisis de fiabilidad y validez, el ?=0,831. Un análisis factorial exploratorio de la prueba KMO y prueba de Bartlett= 0,898, y una significación de 0,00, permitieron el análisis de confiabilidad y validez del instrumento.
