The article presents a review of the commons, analyzing its importance and its proper management. This is how the question is born, can knowledge and free software be considered a common good? To solve this question, the historical, synthetic, dialectic, and analytical methods were used, with a type of descriptive and documentary research, obtaining as a result that knowledge has become one of the greatest common goods, however it has not been exploited efficient way.
El artículo presenta una revisión sobre los bienes comunes, analizando su importancia y su manejo adecuado. Así nace la pregunta, ¿se puede considerar al conocimiento y al software libre como un bien común? Para resolver esta cuestión se utilizaron los métodos histórico, sintético, dialéctico, y analítico, con un tipo de investigación descriptiva y documental, obteniéndose como resultado que el conocimiento se ha convertido en uno de los mayores bienes comunes, sin embargo, no ha sido explotado de manera eficiente.
