VALORACION DEL NIVEL DE CONOCIMIENTOS SOBRE BIOETICA ODONTOLOGICA Y SU APLICACION EN LA PRACTICA CLINICA DE ESTUDIANTES DE ODONTOLOGIA

Abstract

In order to assess the degree of knowledge of students about dental bioethics and its application in clinical practice in the Unit of Dental Care "UNIANDES", a qualitative descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, after identifying the treatment devoid of principles Dentistry Bioethics of students during pre-professional practice towards their patients. The results obtained showed a low level of knowledge about dental bioethics and point to the need to improve the curriculum, through a curriculum with a pedagogical conception that promotes the adequate bioethical training of students.

Resumen

Con el propósito de valorar el grado de conocimiento de los estudiantes sobre bioética odontológica y su aplicación en la práctica clínica en la Unidad de Atención Odontológica ?UNIANDES?, se realizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo cualitativo transversal, luego de identificar el trato desprovisto de principios bioéticos odontológicos de los estudiantes durante la práctica preprofesional, hacia sus pacientes. Los resultados obtenidos arrojaron bajo nivel de conocimientos sobre bioética odontológica y apuntan hacia la necesidad de perfeccionar el plan de estudios, mediante un currículo con una concepción pedagógica que propicie la adecuada formación bioética de los estudiantes.
