Introduction: Information and communication technologies (ICT) have modified the relationship between the different factors that affect academic performance. Objective: to know the different resources and activities that students frequent to use in the Computer Science course of the MOODLE-mediated medical career. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study carried out in the period October 2017 and April 2018 in the Medicine Course of the National University of Chimborazo (UNACH). The population focused was made up of 65 students of the first semester of medicine taking the subject of Computer Science - ICT. Results: According to the results, the activities and resources that the teacher publishes in Moodle are varied, however, the tests, the questionnaire and the tasks have an average with greater number of visits followed by the resources such as files, pages and URLs that have visits with less frequency, the publications or participation of the student in the educational process is notable in accordance with the activities, it can be noted that the student is more frequently interested in visiting the educational platform for the responsibility of taking a proposed test or sending tasks, based on this information obtained, it can be concluded that although there is an interesting interaction between the educational actors, this ubiquitous presence with the students without the notable interest in the other resources and activities can make this platform simply become a repository files, which worries and requires more interest from s teachers in the technological, pedagogical, social and cognitive part.
Introducción: Las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) han modificado la relación entre los diferentes factores que inciden el rendimiento académico. Objetivo: conocer los diferentes recursos y actividades que los estudiantes frecuentan utilizar en la asignatura de Informática de la carrera de medicina mediados por MOODLE. Método: Estudio descriptivo de corte transversal realizado en el periodo octubre 2017 y Abril 2018 en la Carrera de Medicina de Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo (UNACH). La población enfocada estuvo constituida por 65 estudiantes del primer semestre de medicina que toman la asignatura de Informática - TIC. Resultados: De acuerdo con los resultados, las actividades y recursos que el docente publica en Moodle son variados, sin embargo, las pruebas, el cuestionario y las tareas tienen un promedio con mayor número de visitas seguido por los recursos como archivos, páginas y URL que tienen visitas con menor frecuencia, las publicaciones o participación del estudiante en el proceso educativo es notable en concordancia con las actividades, se puede notar que el estudiante se interesa con mayor frecuencia en visitar la plataforma educativa por la responsabilidad de rendir una prueba planteada o enviar tareas, basados en esta información obtenida se puede concluir que si bien existe una interacción interesante entre los actores educativos, esta presencia ubicua con los estudiantes sin el interés notable por los otros recursos y actividades puede hacer que dicha plataforma se convierta simplemente en un repositorio de archivos, lo que preocupa y se requiere de mayor interés por parte de los docentes en la parte tecnológica, pedagógica, social y cognitiva.
