The objective of the research is to explain the behavior of the average income of households, the inequality in their distribution measured by the Gini coefficient and the relationship between these two variables in the period 2000 - 2015. Structured panel data is used of the statistical information of the household survey of the National Institute of Statistics; likewise, econometric models of fixed effects and random affects are estimated. It is concluded that initially there is an inverse relationship between household income and inequality, to then move to a positive direct relationship, an aspect that confirms that in the case of Bolivia despite the fact that in recent years the growth rates have been favorable, this has not allowed a better distribution of income in Bolivian households.
El objetivo de la investigación, es explicar el comportamiento del ingreso medio de los hogares, la desigualdad en su distribución medida por el coeficiente de Gini y la relación entre estas dos variables en el periodo 2000 ? 2015. Se utiliza datos de panel estructurado a partir de la información estadística de la encuesta de hogares del Instituto Nacional de Estadística; asimismo, se estiman modelos econométricos de efectos fijos y afectos aleatorios. Se concluye que inicialmente existe una relación inversa entre el ingreso de los hogares y la desigualdad, para luego pasar a una relación directa positiva, aspecto que confirma que en el caso de Bolivia a pesar de que en los últimos años las tasas de crecimiento han sido favorables, ello no ha permitido una mejor distribución del ingreso en los hogares bolivianos.
