Researches on this topic show how the potentialities of the technological component in the optimization of the educational process, in the positive modification of traditional education systems are neglected, exposing the difficulties in the implementation of ICT in universities. This study examines the current challenges of harnessing the potential of ICT in order to optimize the university educational process. From a conceptual vision that seeks its improvement, the basic notions were revised under constructivist premises, as well as the incorporation of these technologies in higher education and the current challenges to take advantage of its potential.
Las investigaciones sobre el tema muestran cómo se desestiman las potencialidades del componente tecnológico en la optimización del proceso educativo, exponiendo las dificultades en la implementación de las TIC en las universidades. Este estudio examina los desafíos actuales del aprovechamiento del potencial de las TIC de cara a optimizar el proceso educativo universitario. Desde una visión conceptual que pretende la búsqueda de un mejoramiento del mismo, se revisaron nociones básicas bajo premisas constructivistas; así como la incorporación de estas tecnologías en la educación superior y los retos actuales al aprovechamiento del potencial de estas.
