THE USE OF AUGMENTED REALITY THROUGH DENTAL SIMULATOR SOFTWARE TO IMPROVE ANESTHESIA INFILTRATION TECHNIQUES

    Abstract

This paper aimed to apply dental training software to improve the aspects of instruction in students in anesthesia infiltration techniques. The training was applied in a group of students and compared with a control group without training. The software was evaluated with the SUS usability scale and the students with the Hamilton anxiety test. The results indicated that there were no significant differences in the levels of psychological anxiety, however it was shown that there were significant differences in the levels of somatic anxiety and the total anxiety levels. It was concluded that training using the Dental Simulator software helped students significantly to apply anesthesia techniques in real patients.
