The cuban universities of Medical Sciences try to perform transformations to improve the development of research skills in their students. Objective: to value the implementation of the Research Curriculum Strategy for the development of research skills in the students of the Major of Medicine in de subsidiary ?Lidia Doce Sánchez?, Sagua la Grande, Cuba, during the academic term 2013-2014. Methods: a research with mixed approaches was carried out, the study population was constituted by all the medical professors who teach in the major a total of 102, a sample of 30 was selected through a random sampling. Different techniques such as: revision of documents, surveys to professors and interviews to key informants were applied. Results: an inadequate way of implementation of the Research Curriculum Strategy by the medical professors was a verified, the skills related to the source of information the ones that some of them developed without deepening in the remaining four groups of research skills. Conclusions: The insufficient preparation of the medical professors to develop appropriate micro curriculum strategies for the development of research skills in the students of that major was verified. The Research Curriculum Strategy is constituted as necessary methodological tool for the development of research skills in the students, besides allowing the identification and solution of problems of health by means of the use of the scientific method.
Las diversas transformaciones que se desarrollan en las universidades de ciencias médicas cubanas, están dirigidas, entre otras acciones, al perfeccionamiento de las habilidades investigativas de sus estudiantes. Objetivo: valorar la implementación de la estrategia curricular para el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas en los estudiantes de la carrera de Medicina de la Filial de Ciencias Médicas ?Lidia Doce Sánchez? de Villa Clara, Cuba, durante el curso escolar 2013-2014. Métodos: se realizó una investigación con enfoque mixto, la población de estudio estuvo constituida por la totalidad de profesores (102) que imparten clases en la carrera en todas sus sedes, la muestra (30) se seleccionó siguiendo un muestreo no probabilístico. Se aplicaron diferentes técnicas como: revisión de documentos, encuestas a profesores y entrevista a informantes claves. Resultados: se constató que los profesores implementaron de forma inadecuada la estrategia curricular investigativa, y son las habilidades relativas a la fuente de información las que algunos desarrollaron sin profundizar en los restantes cuatro grupos de habilidades investigativas. Conclusiones: se constató la insuficiente preparación de los docentes de Medicina para desarrollar adecuadas estrategias microcurriculares para el desarrollo de la habilidad investigativa en los estudiantes de esa carrera. La estrategia curricular investigativa se constituye como herramienta metodológic necesaria para el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas en los estudiantes, además de permitir la identificación y solución de problemas de salud mediante el uso del método científico.
